1.Grab the nearest book
2.Open the book to page 123
3.Find the fifth sentence
4.Post the text of the next 4-7 sentences on your lj along with these instructions
5.Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book on your closet!
I know you were thinking about it!Just pick up whatever is closest (unless is
too troublesome ans is really heavy. Then go back to step 1)
6.Tag five people

This is an italian book and since I'm lazy I'm not going to translate the sentences!:P
From "La fine è il mio inizio" - Tiziano Terzani

I think anyone has done this meme so I'm going to tag only  [profile] jademacgrathbecause she is a books eater!

I really need to get my arse in gear and brush up my Italian!

[identity profile] animotus.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be so cool! What a couple:I teach you italian accent and you teach me the lovely british accent I LOVE!

[identity profile] memoryfloodsin.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I was good and then uni happened and I didn't use the Italian so I lost it.

I don't think my accent is the sort you want to be learning, it's fairly meh!

[identity profile] animotus.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure your accent is wonderful! You know, after watching many Brit tv shows I'm starting to understand the difference between north and south or Scottish,Welsh and English and I love them all!

[identity profile] memoryfloodsin.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
That's better than me, I can tell a Tuscan from the rest of Italy but that's it.

I'm from the North, but my accent is apparently fairly generic, and often times sounds more Southern than I am.

[identity profile] animotus.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
The important thing is understanding italian,if you think about all the differences between all the regions accents you could go crazy!
When I think about north.....Chris Eccleston and John Simm!♥

[identity profile] memoryfloodsin.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm more North than Ecclescake but sorta just up the road from Simm, although they're both broader and have Lancashire accents, whilst I am the fantabulous Yorkshire person ;D

I'm only able to distinguish Tuscan accents, because I studied in Florence. It irks me that I didn't use my Italian often enough for it to remain really crystal clear, although there's a course running in York this winter, so I may go do that.

Awwww elli, you live in a wonderful country!I wish I could come there right now!♥
Yorkshire sounds so fascinating!

Tuscan should be the perfect italian because our language was born just in that region....you know Dante right?Speaking italian is like speaking in other languages,if you don't have a reason to use it you don't talk!I have the same problem,I can understand very well english but talking is different and I want to have a good accent because I hate that horrible english-italianized accent! You know C.Tate right?Well, there's a sketch where she is incredible imitating in a funny way some european languages!:P
P.s.How's my english?I really would like to improve it so when I write something odd you can tell me,I'm open to criticism!:)

[identity profile] memoryfloodsin.livejournal.com 2007-06-28 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yorkshire rules! ;D

Yeah, I do need to reread all my Dante though, soooo much I've neglected since I went to uni.

Yeah, accents are the worst, I'm terrible with French I can understand it fine but I don't sound great when I speak it.

Your English is great, I've only noticed a couple of odd things, and they're tiny, but of course I'll point anything out. I'll just be pestering you about my Italian in return ;D

[identity profile] animotus.livejournal.com 2007-06-28 08:43 am (UTC)(link)

You are my english teacher now!;)

I don't understand a thing, because the only italian I remember (i went to Italy when I was like... 6) is "burro", which in spanish has the meaning of "donkey", lol, that's the only!! And this is soooo sad! XDDD

Anyway! Thanks for posting, because I just dusted my LJ and posted something :)

[identity profile] animotus.livejournal.com 2007-06-28 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
